Really good book for the money, the backing tracks are good as they have both the demonstration and the accompaniment separately.

I am very im0ressed with this book. It is simple to understand and provides excellent support via the cds. My 8 year old loves it! Thank you!

I bought this for my daughter who is 9, so that she could practise by herself. The content is excellent and with the 2 CDs she is able to listen to the individual notes and then practise them by herself, knowing that she is making the correct sound and not a noise! An excellent first book for beginners to build confidence.

This is a great book, well graded, with tunes that kids love to play. The backing tracks are also well produced and enjoyable to use. I have given 3 stars for a couple of reasons - there is no explanation of how the left and right pages should be used. Basically, the right side pages are to be used if you are playing as part of a band and the left side if you are learning on your own (I THINK!). The left side is much easier, as it is written at a pitch suitable for beginner tenor horn players, whilst the right side pages are at a pitch suitable for a whole band, including Bb instruments and others. This whole system confused me immensely at first, till I worked out what the idea was! The other thing is that the book comes with two CDs of backing tracks - one for the right side pages and one for the left. In my copy, the CDs were labeled incorrectly but once I had that figured out, the next problem was to understand how to find all the tracks. The first 59 tracks are ordinary CD backing tracks. The subsequent tracks are supposed to be mp3 files, but I have yet to locate them on the disc!! I just can't find them! I have tried writing to the publishers, but they replied that I needed to buy another disc, even though the spiel on the back of the book claims that there are BACKING TRACKS FOR ALL SOLO PIECES. This is still a mystery to me! I am in communication with them to try and understand what is going on. I'm sure that once this problem is solved, I will be able to give 4 stars!!

I wasnt sure how my ten year old would react to a music book and CD. He was having trouble focusing on his practice piece and getting frustrated. I just handed him this book and not only did he sit down and read it, but when I put the CD on, he became animated and practiced for over an hour. This book and CD combines listening skills (by being able to hear how to play the notes correctly) to reading skills (reading the music on the page and then transfering that to the tenor horn). This is only my son's second term with the tenor horn, so he is a complete beginner. It gave him the confidence to be able to produce the same sound as the CD. Well worth the money if only for the fact that my son cant wait to practice now, whereas before it was an effort to get him to just practice for 10 minutes a day!

Our nine year old, just a beginner, has really enoyed listening to the CD and following it. I hope there are more in the series because she has enjoyed this so much.

Excellente méthode d'apprentissage pour enfant (ma fille a 7 ans) ou adulte. Les commentaires sur le disque sont en anglais, mais il n'est absolument pas nécessaire de comprendre cette langue.
