The Paul Reed Smith Guitar sounds alive from the day the rough blanks for the bodies and necks are cut. The entire instrument works as one to deliver an evenness of tonal colour, amplitude and feel no matter where you are on the fingerboard. Every piece of wood that goes into a PRS Guitar is painstakingly chosen and carefully handled. An experienced PRS craftsman checks each piece for flaws, strength and stability. From the highly flamed curly maple to the genuine rosewood of the fingerboards, all PRS woods are bone-dried in our custom kilns. After drying, the woods are carefully matched for a rich, warm tone, both in the bodies and the one-piece necks.

Because colour is an important component in any guitar's appearance, the PRS dyes are specially blended to look their best under stage lights, shining with such luster and brilliance that the guitar truly looks as good as it sounds. PRS Guitars are available in a rainbow of colours including Black Cherry, Gray Black, Whale Blue and Vintage Sunburst.

PRS Pickups are built in-house to Paul's exacting specifications. Years of work and research have been spent on the important details such as focusing on the highs so they sing instead of shriek, or contouring the bass tone so it's punchy, not boomy. After all, the subtleties are what make the difference in how your pickups sound.

Paul Smith: "We don't do something just because that's the traditional way. If the best possible guitar results from using a robot for one procedure and a lot of hand-sanding or hand-inlaying for another, then that's how we do it"

This is the first guitar I've bought for a number of years. I’ve given it 5stars as I feel it’s the best guitar for the money. I spent a few weeks looking at guitars between £250 & £500; this is the one that really stood out for me. Its price floats around the middle of what I wanted to pay, yet easily sits at the top end of the sound I was looking for. The low notes have a warm deep sound that lets you really chug out those chords and the top end sings out giving it a real melodic sound that adds dimension to your playing. This contrast also helps when playing lead/solo, you can really change the mood in just a few notes, yet thankfully the transition is a smooth one as you move up the scale. Plus it looks amazing, the finish is flawless.
