The Viking Jazzband was formed in 1956 by Danish trombonist Arne "Papa Bue” Jensen. The band became associated with the Dixieland Jazz revival, at a time when many musicians were working in the new Bebop style. Bjarne Liller started off as the band’s Banjo player and vocalist, and went on to enjoy a successful solo career. They reunited to produce the 1977 LP, Jazz Party, which contains 28 classic Jazz songs as well as some unique Danish melodies. With 33 tracks in total, this CD comes with a nostalgic Dixieland feel, but an unmistakeable Viking edge.
