Jazz, Blues And Ragtime (Violin Edition)

Books | Violin

Publisher: Boosey & Hawkes
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album

Favourite jazz and blues numbers include The Entertainer, Take Five, House Of The Rising Sun and Makin' Whoopee. The flexible format and extra, optional parts make these ideal for solos, duets or a larger folk band. Some of the music is familiar, some more exotic, but all of it is absolutely authentic, faithfully arranged and, above all, hugely enjoyable.

The music is arranged for flexible strings, so you can play as solos, duets, trios or with a larger band. The violin edition has an optional easy violin part and guitar chords. Suitable for players of all ages, including beginners and mixed ability groups.

Brilliant jazz fun for Grades 4-6.
Be good to have a CD with it.

          Musicroom Reviews

I am an adult learner and play with a group of five others, all Grade 2-3 standard. So far we have only tried the Paragon Rag but I think this book will be really useful for our sessions, especially as it has an easier 2nd part. The tunes do appear to vary in terms of difficulty so will provide us with a challenge for quite a while.

Good book, but it was a request from his violin teacher to purchase and not one I would have chosen to buy as my son does not know the tunes and many are before my time, perhaps a cd might be useful.
