        Musicroom Reviews

I really enjoy playing this music, and I feel it will last me for a good time to come. The CD has two versions of each piece - one full version with a lead violin playing the same music as you, and one which is purely backing music so you can be in the limelight! While the notes are simple enough that grade 1-2 could enjoy playing them, the example player on the CD plays to a much higher standard (using vibrato etc.), so there's plenty more to aim for! The only frustrating thing out of the entire book so far is on Phantom Of The Opera's "All I Ask Of You"... when it gets to the climatic part where she says "say you love me...", you play that part, and then the CD very weakly plays "... you know I do." I wish the violin played both parts of that, or that the CD answered back more forcefully as this is a key moment in the song. Otherwise, perfect!

Very interesting collection of tunes and very good value for money. I am about grade two and have been able to play most of them first time through and will enjoy playing my way through the book.

Excellent. The tunes are simple enough for my daughter (Grade 3 level) to be able to play straightaway.
