Perhaps like the reviewer above, I bought this book to play Brahms` chorale preludes - the Preludes / Fugues are extremely difficult, even played at a fraction of their intended speed, though they are undoubtedly excellent pieces. The chorales are much more approachable and Brahms` setting of Schmücke Dich is very beautiful, with a self-indulgance typical of the master-composer!

A useful book for church organists. Some of the chorale preludes are of moderate difficulty, others as challenging as those of Bach. The preludes were too demanding for me.
