If you know and can cope with some of JSB's Inventions & Sinfonias, then these will be for you. These four two-part pieces are slightly more extended works, but the invention is simply amazing. No.1 has a crazily angular theme and is full of the most outrageously weird chromaticism, while No.3 is exquisitely lilting. I heard Andras Schiff juxtapose them with Bulgarian Dances from Bartok's Mikrokosmos to brilliant effect. Great little pieces and wonderful to play. Enjoy!
        No. I love them.
