        Musicroom Reviews

A beautifully presented complete edition by Henle Verlag. The music is easy to read and the book sits open without wanting to snap shut. The other two volumes complete the set and a wonderful addition to any pianist's collection. Highly recommended.

This is the first volume of the G Henle Verlag urtext edition to replace the now lost Schirmer edition of the complete Schubert Piano Sonatas I was given nearly half a century ago. The upside is that I now have an authoritative text to work with, along with an informative preface, critical comments and fingering suggestions that positively contribute to a musical interpretation of Schubert's sonatas. Originally published over forty years ago, this edition still retains the crispness and clarity in this reprinting that will ensure I don't misplace it again!
