This books had been simplified and can be used by ALL beginners since the tunes are short and easy to play. It also has lovely pictures, which the children love!
Too much fingering written out which means a teacher has to find a way out by giving supplementary material to emphasise notes on “the staff”

Illustrations are geared towards very young pupils, but content moves far too quickly for this age...introduces many concepts all at once and layout is far too cramped

really good for very young beginners as you don't start looking at printed music for the first few lessons, it is all done with copying and listening

Have been using this with all beginning students for a long time now and it is excellent. Includes some duets with teacher & student towards back of book which always go down well. Highly recommended.

I've used this book for many years as younger pupils enjoy it, but it is even better with CD. For the introductory count in, not all tunes begin with a different sound for the first beat of the bar which can be confusing for pupils.

This is an ideal introduction for young pupils. I find my pupils respond really well to the pieces, which are generally very tuneful including some based on folk tunes, & it builds up their confidence quickly.

Beautifully illustrared, lovely catchy tunes. Also comes with a CD, which has accompaniments at sensible tempo's. Children will love this book.
