Lincoln GB Mother of the organist.
Hymn tunes written out in order of difficulty, starting with just one note per hand and no pedals and progressing to more notes and then pedals being added later. Very useful for son (14) who is playing for some services now. Main thing is for him to choose the hymns now!!
There aren't any really except perhaps the cost. It was quite pricey but deservedly so, I think.

A lifeline for the busy organist with vicars giving one hymns the day before the time.As a peripatetic organist, I never play on the same instrument twice and find the difference in pedal boards daunting. A simplified pedal structure on a separate stave saves time and stress.Having only played organ for a year and transferring from the piano,it eases one in gently.

Excellent book as I've come to expect from Anne M-T. Would suit a pianist tranferring to organ as it starts with 2-part, manuals-only playing. Although it moves pretty quickly into 4-part manuals+pedals there is a very thorough grounding in pedalling itself as well as all aspects of hymn playing, covering technical aspects of playing as well as the art of accompanying/leading a congregation. There's also plenty for more experienced players - I'm a slightly rusty former cathedral organ scholar and I found this book very useful in auditing my hymn playing as well giving lots of interesting pointers.

Lots of techniques I wasn't aware of and careful gradation to assist the learner to improve. Love the separate pedal line!
