This is a lovely work by a composer on the classical/romantic border, full of melodies and bravura clarinet writing. That Spohr was a violinist is clear from the figurework, and most of us would have been grateful for more breathing spaces, but the majority of passages can be managed by a professional player. The slow movement is an aria of great beauty, and the final rondo bounces around with infectious rhythm and energy. Curiously, both the first and last movements end at a slow pace and very much in the minor key, so don't expect instant rapturous applause at the end, if you do play it publicly.

Lovely piece of clarinet music. The chosen movement for the grade is great, but learning the entire concerto is recommended.
