The allure of tango, both the dance and its music, ia an extraordinary and enduring phenomenon. This book brings together a collection of classic Argentinian tangos from the golden age of the 1920's, 30's and 40's, together with some more recent examples of tango nuevo by Astor Piazzolla. The music is arranged for flexible strings, so can be played as solos, duets or trios, with optional piano or guitar. Suitable for players of all ages, including beginners and mixed ability groups. Includes notes on the musical style, performance tips and evocative illustrations.
Includes additional keyboard and violin accompaniments.
This is an excellent compilation of Latin American style music. The editor is well known for gathering music of particular genres and he does it very well. The music is sensibly set out and a good size. The tangos are all musically interesting without being technically difficult. The easiest is a gorgeous little piece set for Grade 3. I really like the fact that it can be used for players of differing abilities. Anonymous
