A fantastic reference and tutor book which covers the rudiments of music and playing the saxophone, and includes scales, studies, miniatures and duets for saxophone. Written by Otto Langey, this book will help to develop and secure your technical control offering a wide range of studies and short pieces, which will also extend your stylistic understanding.

Good tutor for improvers. Arranged by key so great for focussing practice on specific keys. And exercises includes well written duets.

My saxophone/clarinet teacher is the pickiest teacher you will ever meet, which of course is just what you need if you are serious about learning an instrument! So if he recommends Otto Langey then it's the best! And it is. 131 pages of joy and hard work starting very easily with Tonal Exercises and finishing with 6 flats, which for me a guitarist is really scary! Seriously though the book is very clear and well made with 26 pages of "A SELECTION OF POPULAR MUSIC" (classical) finishing off the book (first piece Wagner's Bridal Chorus and ending with Deuxieme Morceau de Concert by Nazaire Beckman). Also starts with a page of scales for 8 different types of sax and the actual sound you make. I wholeheartedly recommend this substantial music book and it also has a brilliant SAXOPHONE CHART spread over two pages (each slightly larger than A4) which is the clearest I have come across. An absolute must if you are serious!!!!!
NOTHING it is just great.

Professional musician and teacher,
This book gives saxophone students a really good workout on reading and instrumental technique. It is, to my mind, probably the best tutor book of it's kind
Younger students may be put off by it's rather severe exercises.
