I find these to be efficient and effective for teaching young beginners some basics
and familiarising them with reading notes
there are few in the sense that it provides a teacher all he should need to engage a young pupil in piano lessons

I have just started using this tutor and found it to be very useful with the young beginner. Teaching is gradual in this book and suddenly children realise they are reading music on a proper stave! A good buy.

This introduction for children is of the no-nonesense veriety. It is straight to the point and allows the teacher to concentrate on technique issues such as hand/finger position, legato and staccato playing. Use of dynamics and ultimately balance, with the more advanced pupil, can be introduced within the confines of this small, relatively cheap starting tutor.
