Good examples of the different styles that Shearing was able to incorporate into his jazz repertoire without losing his distinctive touch and feeling for the origin of the piece.
Although I appreciate that these are transcriptions I would like to have seen some basic chord symbols to enable students to improvise on the themes.

Good selection of memorable tunes. Bought it for my son who is obviously not of the Shearing generation of listeners but he really enjoys playing from this collection.

Some are original and I can handle them and enjoy playing, others are interpretations.

A medium-to-good intro to Shearing's style though I dare say he elaborated as he went along. Will appeal to those who want to play at the tail end of parties and such times. Some good material to add to one's repertoire.
