Matteo Carcassi: 25 Melodious And Progressive Studies Op.60

Books | Classical Guitar

Catalogue No: FJHG1013
Composer: Matteo Carcassi
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album
Carcassi published a progressive method for learning the guitar, Op.59, and also published the Melodious And Progressive Studies Op.60, which were probably intended to be used in conjunction with his method. From his method, important details of performance practice, particularly execution of ornaments, have been incorporated into this edition of the Carcassi studies.

This edition provides an accurate realisation of the composer's original manuscripts, with right and left-hand fingering added for clarification.

The Carcassi studies Op60 are excellent for developing right hand fluency. The left hand challenging are only moderate so one can focus on right hand. Thy are good for self confidence as they offer the student a flowing performance with not too much blood, sweat and tears. Every developing guitarist should have these 25 studies nearby.

This is a really excellent book and a must for aspiring classical guitarists. It builds on both right and left hand technique. I would not want to be without it.
