Rhapsody in Blue has here been restored to its original manuscript by Alicia Zizzo. Few composers have written material that has been more improvised upon, imitated, fragmented and generally misinterpreted than George Gershwin's. Gershwin's lack of participation in the original publication of Rhapsody in Blue
led to an unanticipated altered composition that was shrouded in unanswered questions for more than half a century. The editors at Harms determined to edit the piece according to their view on how the piece should be performed. It was deemed too long among other factors.
Zizzo has reinserted the deleted passages and after extensive research has reinstored this pieces authenticity. The book included the appendum to the 2 piano/ 4 hands edition.
