Frederic Chopin: Complete Preludes, Nocturnes And Waltzes (Updated Edition)

Books | Piano

Publisher: G. Schirmer
Composer: Frederic Chopin
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album
It is difficult to overestimate the importance of Chopin's Piano compositions, of which this collection represents a substantial and significant part. The Preludes, Nocturnes and Waltzes are overflowing with tonal, technical and textural innovations which, alongside Schubert, heralded the beginnings of the Romantic era of extended tonality and evermore complex methods of expression. These pieces are required repertoire for any serious Piano student or professional performer, rich in clues and signposts that help understand the development of post-Beethoven composition.

In this collection, 26 Preludes, 21 Nocturnes and 19 Watzes are presented, including seven urtext editions new to this volume. All edited by Rafael Joseffy.

Excellent fingering layout. A pleasure to use for a relative beginner.
It does not lie flat so easily.

This book is fantastic for anyone grade 8+ with some very hard pieces. Also, it is really easy to read because of the way its written.

Excellent value and the pages are easy to turn unlike a lot of these sort of books where the binding is stiff. An essential book to build up your repertoire.

This was a gift for my son who has recently taken the Royal College of Music Performance Diploma and still awaits the result. He informs me that he is absolutely delighted with this book and feels that it will really help him to continue to improve his playing. It is certainly challenging, but well worth the effort. If you love Chopin, you will enjoy this book.

Great to have the sheet music for the Preludes again but with the bonus of waltzes and nocturnes as well. Lost my edition of Preludes a few years back.

Good value - there's a lot of music here. Delivered very quickly. I'm learning to play some of this along with grade 7 pieces.

The music arrived, exactly when expected, beautifully packaged, This is the 3rd. copy I have bought of this particular music, the other 2 were for fellow pianists, we are thoroughly enjoying this edition.
