Olivier Messiaen: Preludes

Books | Piano

Publisher: Durand
Composer: Olivier Messiaen
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album
A fantastic volume of Preludes for Piano by one of France's greatest composers, Olivier Messiaen. Completed in 1929, this was Messiaen's first published work yet he was already demonstrating his own, inventive modal system. This volume contains eight examples of his soaring and expressive work for Piano solo.

Fabulous music and just about attainable for amateur pianists.

I gave it 1 star not with respect to the music, but the quality of the book. The print is fuzzy, the pages are stapled cheaply and one of the staples came off within days.

Good edition, but as French music always is, incredibly overpriced.
