The Siesta range of instruments originate from the endeavor to trade fairly and ethically with communities and makers all over the world, from Kenya and Nairobi to Bali and India. This stunning painted Djembe has been handmade and finished from wood, topped with skin, and offering a mid-pitched warm resonance.

I must also review this drum (I have reviewed the 20cm djembe also). The drum does it's job - fine and spot on sound - just as expected and hoped. No "sluggish toy-sound from these djembes". Fine for the child to grow on - actually no age-limit - grown-ups as me can use it. For such small money and with the fine "fair-trade" program behind this Siesta drum, it holds what a instrument can hold - namely atmosphere, due to african culture, real skin, rope and wood. Thumbs up! - for a "not plastic" affordable and "musical" instrument.
