This quality Practice Chanter with Reed has an excellent tone quality, providing you with a superb sound. Playing this practice Chanter will be the perfect start to learning the Bagpipes.

      Good looks, quality for the price.
      Holes are a wee bit small, difficult to "feel".However, my fingers are old and stiff with age!

      It's out of tune. The high G is G#, not G, and the E is about 1/4 tone sharp. I guess you get what you pay for particularly if made in Pakistan or wherever.

      Good afternoon Dirk, Our purchasing department has contacted the supplier Direct their response is as follows;

      ‘’This isn’t an issue we have come across before. The pitch of a chanter is adjustable by moving the reed up or down in the chanter. They are a fairly sensitive instrument and do take some fettling to get right- see the links below for more information. ‘’

      I hope this helps but if you are still having problems and want to return this for a refund please email me back. kind regards Karen

      A good overall product. Good quality, and good tone. Some basic instructions/guidelines would have been nice, though, as proper handling of the reed is quite important, apparently! I am enjoying trying this instrument.

      I think the saying you get what you pay for proves the point with this. For the price it is good quality. But I wish I had paid more and got a better instrument which is what I have decided to do now. If you want a basic not great sounding instrument this is fine. If you want better quality pay extra it will be worth it.
