Great simple yet complex pieces. Has really helped to develop my abilities to appreciate and play Chamber style pieces. Originally, it was written for kids, but has a melodies that sound like proper pieces of art. Highly recommended for any adult learner wanting to up their violin repertoire away from simple tunes.

I recommend that you listen to Bela Bartok's music first and get a feel before you buy. There's a lot of play of opposing tonal systems, dissonance and counter-harmonies in his influential work, which it presents itself in the 44 Duos as well.
Would be nice if there was an accompanying CD for the solo players out there.
