Karl Jenkins' Ave Verum is a beautiful setting of the 14th century Eucharistic hymn, for Voice with Piano Accompaniment. This is an exquisite sacred solo complete with gently rocking rhythms and Karl Jenkins' uniquely atmospheric sound world. An optional second voice part is included, which gives the opportunity to perform a hauntingly beautiful duet. This piece provides a wonderful enrichment to any vocalist's repertoire.
This little piece also figures in Jenkins' setting of 'Stabat Mater' as a solo for mezzo. In this duet for two baritones, it is a good item for any reasonable amateurs to perform, working well with organ accompanyment as well as piano. It would make a good short anthem, for those ocassions when the full choir is not available. Anonymous
