The Fife Book - An Introductory Course To Playing The Flute

Books | Fife

Publisher: Just Flutes Edition
Format: Books | Instrumental Tutor

The Fife Book - An Introductory Course To Playing The Flute is a wonderful book, written by Liz Goodwin, which serves as an excellent introduction to learning to play the Flute.

The Fife is an instrument in its own right, but it is also an excellent starting point to learn the beginnings of really good flute technique - especially how to produce a good sound and how to hold the instrument well. You will learn to develop good hand positions and control breathing, while also learning to read music and develop rhythm.

A fantastic book with great tips for a beginner to help develop embouchure and posture. Learning on the fife is a great way to begin and a sure start to playing the flute. Definitely recommend!

I am currently working on this book.. although i can read music already and the fife being a new instrument to me,it is still helpful.I plan to study the flute after it (the fife). This book was recommended as a pre-curser to learning the flute. It is clearly laid out in simple in understandable terms.I will get bk.2 after this for sure!

This book has some good pictures and hints for teaching the fife/flute embouchure. There are some useful exercises for developing the facial muscles required for fife/flute playing. It is aimed at the youger child and has some well known tunes as well as new ones.

The new edition is clear and easy to follow. Nice pre-playing tips fairly quick progression but I still like it.

This book is very user friendly for the very young child. A good way to get them on to a Flute later on in their playing.
