        Musicroom Reviews

There are a lot of sight-singing methods around, none of which are particularly good. I approached this one as you might expect, with some trepadation. Paul Harris and Mike Brewer are both respected musicians and authors and this book didn't dissapoint. It is arranged clearly with appropriate aims. It doesn't assume too much knowlege beforehand, and is not full of cartoons and pictures. It is a useful book to work through with techniques being built up and then put into practice. An excellent resource!

It is brilliant. Easily the best introduction to sight singing and music reading I have come across in over 60 years of choral singing. I am using it with a new choir of mixed ages most of whom do not read music well.

I am delighted to have discovered this publication. For myself and our choir of mixed ability and experience it gives a comprehensive, easy to follow teaching and self-teaching aid to learning to sight read music. Excellent.
