These delightful pieces for violin and piano (approx. Grade 5 level)show Kreisler at his most inspired as a composer of baroque pastiche. "In the style of" 17th century French courtly dances, these two little gems are far more than a mere academic excercise in imitation, but reveal Kreisler's expertise in writing for both violin and piano showing that simplicity is by no means the same as banality. Highly recommended as a concert piece for young students who enjoy exploring music other than their set exam pieces.
