I am a pianist and piano teacher working in London. I had this book when I was 4 years old and still find it the very best fun book for kids, despite all the many other options. It is simple, but the words that go with each tune are ones that kids respond to very well. I love it!

This book is very effective for teaching children to learn piano, as it covers all the essential musical aspects for a beginner. It gets the learner to start playing with both hands right at the beginning. It moves quite fast though, so perhaps not appropriate for children under the age of 7.

Good starter book. Teaches the new notes logically and allows the pupil time to remember them.

I grew up with this book and am now using it myself for teaching. Whereas I do not teach all the pieces in the book (about 90%) I find it to be a very straightforward and easy book for young pupils to follow. Full marks!

This book is superb! My daughter Joanna started having piano lessons at school and was recommended to get this book and when she got it she read all the tips and music carefully and just started playing! So this book should deserve more than 5 stars and if you or your child/ren decide they want to start playing I would strongly recommend this book to you. My daughter loves playing from the book because there are pictures in and they make it all simple for you. I couldn't think of a better book than this to start learning the piano. I bought my daughter more of the John W Schaum books as with all the help in the book she just whizzes through it. Thanks
