The notespeller is clearly laid out on each page and easy for beginners to get a good grasp of theory in general. The learning curve is well built in Book 1 and consolidated through Book 2 while expanding knowledge of theorical structure in an ordered, easy to understand way. This helps students to appreciate and understand the practical principles necessary to learn any instrument with confidence.

My "younger" pupils (aged 4-8) could not put this book down, demanding we did some theory at the end of every lesson. Parents rang to ask if it was alright for the child to do more than allocated for the week. Think that speaks for it self. Highly recommended for an intro to music. Shame about the American terminology (Halfnote, measure etc) but the children already knew the "correct" words!!!!

I am really enjoying re-learning to read music with this book. It was recommended in a book about learning to play the harp and I can definitely see why. It is clear and simple and the repetition is helping cement the information in my head.

Excellent first theory book.My pupils just love working through the different lessons. Good for teachers to spot any basic reading problems that the pupil may have. Highly recommended!

It does the job on the whole. I issue it to pupils who are struggling a bit with remembering the lines and spaces.
