The Easiest Tune Book Of Negro Spirituals

Books | Piano and Voice, with Guitar chord symbols

Publisher: Edwin Ashdown
Format: Sheet Music | Songbook
Another instalment of the Easiest Tune Book series collects a great wealth of inspiring and uplifting spirituals sung by slaves during one of the darkest periods in American history, arranged for Piano.

The tunes have been arranged mostly in two-part harmony, as simply as possible, to make them playable by the youngest music maker. The left hand is entirely in the five-finger position, and the tunes transposed into the easiest key. The songs have been compiled and arranged by Eleanor Franklin Pike, in her well-loved and popular series for beginner pianists.

Excellent as a way to learn to read music and play on the piano.
Would prefer to see key signatures at the start of each piece, rather than in a separate diagram.
