Lovely easy tunes for real beginners to piano and to reading music.
Great if you want the student to learn to read music properly and not just rely on finger numbers!
Rhythm examples use 'Whole note', 'quarter note' etc, but easy to write next to them.

      Good presentation but expensive
In a scale of 1 through 10 I expected this to relate to a young starter as 6. It is 2 at best and is not a guide to start a musician at all.

This is a marvellous book to use with little ones. I find it invaluable as a starter for 4 to 6 year olds. It is so clear and simple and allows me to teach in my chosen way with fingers in 1st position ( thumbs on middle C). I was first introduced to it in Canada many years ago and was delighted when I found that I could buy it in England. I just wouldn't want to be without it.
One piece has words which are not suitable for a non- American pupil. I tippex over them and write more suitable words over the top. That's my only bad point.

I had this book when I began piano lessons 50 years ago!! This new edition is great - some methods continue to be appropriate, and this is one of them. I now use it alongside "tutor books" as additional material. The very young love the colouring in pages too!

My Daughter is 5 years old and has just started piano lessons. This book was recommended by her music teacher, and she is working through the book very successfully. The book was well packed and arrived promptly.
