An album of out-takes and unreleased bonus tracks from the recording of Vai's 1984 debut album, 'Flex-Able'. Contains accurate transcriptions of all the guitar parts (and, where appropriate, vocal, keyboard and bass lines too) plus an introduction by Laurel Fishman.
This is the start of it all! Or, more accurately, the leftovers of the start of it all. Although this CD could hardly predict what was about to follow from this phenomenal musician, the early signs of his extraordinary playing have been sown. Not suitable for a first contact with Vai, and not an easy record. But for those into Steve's unique stuff it's another must. One cannot miss the similarities with Frank Zappa's style and the constant humorous attitude(explained by Vai's contribution to some of Uncle Frank's monumental albums). All in all, (once again) not of this earth!
