        Musicroom Reviews

This is a lovely religious work for chorus (SATB) with organ/piano accompaniment, not too difficult for an amateur choir. It tells the story of the events leading up to the Crucifixion of Jesus, and is in similar vein to the more well-known Stainer's Crucifixion, with dramatic scenes covering for instance the arrest and trial of Jesus, and tuneful reflective interludes. This is a rewarding work for a choir to sing, and attractive for an audience, which also gets to sing two hymns during the performance. Well recommended.
