Peak District, Derbyshire. GB I'm a professional guitarist.
This book is used in music colleges, and is a great method for learning to sight-read. It is most suitable for use in lessons with a teacher, and best for pupils over 11 years of age. I have used this in my teaching practice for many years. The author (now deceased) was a leading music educator.
This book is a textbook and is unlikely to be attractive to young children. The material is largely jazz-based, particularly the chord stuff, and rock players will probably struggle without guidance from a teacher. These are not criticisms, just things to be aware of if you are looking for a sight reading book.

          Musicroom Reviews

Not for no reason did John Scofield give the author of this book a credit on his 80's album Electric Outlet. Remember, this wonderful book was written in the 60's but is still a fantastic source of inspiration for guitarists of all levels. I would also say the same for volumes 2 and 3. You cannot go wrong with this set!
