Along with a full step-by-step guide to developing the skills of the melodic style, this book also features

  • Bill Keith's personal explanation of how he developed his formidable technique, in his own words and music.
  • 37 tunes in tablature, including a section of fiddle tunes.
  • Interviews with the stars of te melodic style including Bobby Thompson, Eric Weissberg, Ben Eldridge and Alan Munde.
  • A CD featuring Trischka himself with backing band, demonstrating many of the fiddle tunes featured in the book.

i liked reading it basically because my husband is listed in the book - Bobby Thompson; besides that though, all the people i know who play banjo really do like the book and use the tablature to play different songs. Tony Trishka is a very good writer - he knows a lot about both bluegrass and banjo.
