Each of these pieces is interesting. Considering the time in which they were written some of them feel very modern. I would recommend this volume to all music lovers.

The music is easy to follow and the notation very clear. I am enjoying playing the pieces and realise why John Field is the fore-runner of Nocturnes. Think that more publicity should be given as several of the Nocturnes I had not heard previously and would be a joy to hear from some of our well-known pianists.

This was a repurchase of the same edition I had many years ago, which was unfortunately damaged and fell apart. So it was a replacement for that. These nocturnes are a good introduction to Chopin's pieces, and the review by Franz Liszt show that they were very popular in the mid 19th century.

Lovely pieces, as the inventor of the Nocturen form.
