Canzon Cornetto (1621) is a classic Baroque era piece for four Trumpets, showcasing the fugal capabilities of a brass ensemble, yet still incorporating a delightful fanfare-style middle section. Samuel Scheidt (1587-1654) was a German composer and organist who helped lay the foundations of the Baroque style. Today he is best remembered for his sacred vocal works and his organ music.
