Led Zeppelin were perhaps Rock's most lauded and revered Super Group, made up of the best musicians in every position. With the dynamic chemistry of Page and Plant and the untimely death of Bonham, bassist John Paul Jones is often overlooked, but was just as important as the other memebers. His melodic thunder helped to push and drive their music forward and, his songwriting, arrangements and musical ability immeasurably added to their sound.
This Bass Guitar Workshop DVD lesson from Lick Library is an exclusive and informed lesson tutorial for five of Bass Legend, John Paul Jones' classic lines. Phil Williams breaks everything into absorbable chunks so that you can learn the bass techniques that laid the foundations for progressive rock. With performances of each track, easily understood instructions and demonstrations and also includes a section of Bass techniques and style to get that authentic JPJ sound!
Led Zeppelin related items normally focus on the other band members so I was really waiting for a DVD like this. The lesson is not as polished as I expected from Phil Williams but it is still a great breakdown, at a reasonable pace, of some difficult tracks. Intermediate players will really benefit while advanced players would do better to stick with the tab book and album. Anonymous
