A very useful book - Recommended for any organists preparing for RCO exams, or for improving their keyboard skills. This book begins with short two and three parts counterpoint exercises, and progresses to fugal expositions and song accompaniments.
But for me the most useful section is the hymn tunes composed by Sumsion. These use a variety of time signatures and keys (though there are more in the minor). These contain some chromatic chords (especially the diminished seventh) and many passing notes and are therefore more difficult to transpose than the average hymn tune. There is also a helpful introduction with some tips on how to approach transposition.
