the sound of the harmony from the composer is maintained, and by the variety the student is burdened by hours of hard work for a single piece, and it serves as a taster or refresher for newcomers to the piano/classical repertoire. All themes are valuable for a well rounded musician.
A more pedantic approach to the piano pieces is available in lots of books. They lead to a deeper knowledge of the style and contents, but the purpose of this simple book for beginners is to aid in selection of classical taste or to refresh or invite the classical period.

Bought for a retired pupil who wanted to learn some music that was under grade 1. Great for pupils coming up to grade 1 who want to learn some well known music quite quickly.

This is a lovely repertoire companion book; I use it with a 10yr old her second year of piano; it's lovely for her to play "grown up music" she recognises. The arrangements are challenging enough to stretch her, but pretty enough to make it worth the effort.

This is another great one from the John Thompson series. My son loves the general learning books, and these are fantastic supplements to let his teacher branch out a bit with him. So far he has preferred the Beatles and Christmas books, but this one provides good variety, too.

An excellent book for the beginner, very basic and easy to play.

Some nice simplified versions of well-known classical tunes at perhaps a Grade 1 standard. This might be particularly popular with adult learners. There are not many dynamics however, which is a shame, although a teacher can always put these in for students.
