Attractive, cleverly written tunes which cover a good range of popular styles. Examples of the sight-reading or improvisation test and the aural test are given, and the scales and arpeggios/broken chords expected at this level are included in the book. Even for students not intending to sit the Rockschool exam, this is a good selection of pieces to widen the experience of different styles of music.

This series is useful for teaching those who do not want classical training. Scales and modes are taught and used and the tunes are relevant and tuneful. Modern styles that are related to easily. Good, but I feel a little pricey.

I find these Rockschool Piano exam pieces very fun material for my students that are willing to go the popular music path. Very enjoyable and great material that makes them want to practice. However, I would have preferred more examples of improvisation and interpretation examples at the back.

A nice change from ABRSM graded exams with a variety of modern pieces for contemporary musicians. Also aims to develop players' improvisational skills but provides little information on what is expected at each level.

Amazing! I can play 1 of these songs already. It took me about one week to learn. Although I only spent about 1/2 hr a day. The book is really good. I could play 2 grade 1 pieces, and i tried the grade 3. The CD really helps also. I think this is a really good book. I would recommend it.
