Melodious, moves quickly and has lyrics which have humour and a meaning. Probably too hard for primary school children but ideal for teenagers (for whom it was originally written) and for choirs.

This is a gorgeous lullaby cum carol. As the parts introduce each animal suggested to be present at the Savior's birth, we hear them intone in their natural tongue. A fun piece for a young choir, but the arpeggios make for a challenge to an older group.

this is my favourite Christmas piece, i have used it with a wide range of ages & abilities, its totally timeless. it does, however, cause much competition to be mice and doves.
