Very helpful for correcting errors of position which can easily occur. The book has plenty of photos to illustrate the points. Its divided into 2 sections, one for the left hand, the other for the right hand. Lots of exercises. What I found particularly helpful was the different techniques which can be used for people with small hands or large hands. Overall, a great resource which I know I'll be using for years to come.

A superbly comprehensive volume which does exactly what it says and deals with the basics. However it doesn't stop at basics. This book is invaluable to student, teacher and professional alike.

Fantastic book. Very useful tips both for practice and teaching! Excellent presentation so it is very easy to understand the excercises (pictures, instructions, etc). Couldn't reccomend it enough. A must for every violinist to have.

This is a must-have for all serious violinists. The book is used internationally, and for good reason - all aspects of technique are covered with clear explanations and exercises that are effective. I have used this myself and with pupils, with fantastic results. Highly recommended!

I am an intermediate level adult learner and this book was recommended to me by my teacher. It contains marvellous pictures for bowing and fingering and really well designed drills for strength, coordination and tone. The instructions are laid out very clearly and systematically. It will take me a lifetime to study everything in here. Already working on some of the drills has transformed my playing. Expensive but well worth it for the committed learner.

Great book, this will last you for years. There are so many techniques, and the section on bowing is particularly informative. This is a big book and well worth the money. This book is not just the basics, it goes well beyond what most books provide.
