I would have been happy to lose the editorial fingerings. They seem based on a modern piano technique – not what I want, distracting and misleading.

Excellent collection of rare fugues by a composer that I am personally very fond of.
Scarlatti should have written more than 5 fugues - there simply isn't enough!

Clearly notated and helpful in its musical direction.

Difficult to get hold of a copy of this, must be a popular exam choice.....! Scarlatti's Fugues are a marvel: not as complex or as profound as J S Bach's in his '48' perhaps, but richly rewarding nonetheless. They lie well under the hands, and easily flow along with their own momentum. A joy to play, these have reignited my love of Scarlatti.
