Does exactly what it says on the tin, and each of the two parts is rated at the start to give an idea of difficulty. Lower part is a little more difficult, but this isn't just a "teacher + pupil" book. I've had my pupils swapping over with me, no problem. Proper music, not too hard, so good for 'quick study', or sight reading.

I like the cd that comes with this book but I do wish this was in tab form as well. The delivery was fast and no problems with the condition of the book.

I'm very impressed with this. Straightforward, real pieces by composers you've heard of, but it still is "easy". Both parts are marked with a 'level' (e.g. 1, 1A, 2, etc.) which gives you a good idea how technically difficult it is. An obvious point, and well implemented. Although the lower part is usually slightly harder, it's not "teacher/pupil" difficulty, so pupils can do the accompaniment part too. The CD is good, with the two parts panned apart in the stereo, so you can balance the parts (or eliminate one entirely) by using the balance control on your hi-fi as you desire. As a teacher I now use it regularly, and have had a few pupils get their own copy.

This book has a wealth of delightful material to entice the beginner/intermediate player. The levels of difficulty are clearly labeled. The CD is very helpful to play with but would be even more helpful if it included another CD of practice tracks at a slower pace. We who are endlessly striving to learn need more of this: attractive duets with sound fingering. Highly recommended.
