Obviously aimed at, and good for beginners. For me (and I'm not very good) simplifying the harmonies has gone too far making for very dull arrangements. I would have bought a more advanced book, I just couldn't find one on the site.

My children just loved being able to play tunes that were familiar to them. They are beginners - only a few months in - and this was just right for them: extremely simple but still a satisfying effect. A real success.

Great for my 9 and 7 year olds. Enough is easy for them to sight read and there are some to work on with their piano teacher.

An extremely easy arrangement of some of our favourite carols with all the versus to go with them. It's nice that there are optional accompaniments to a number of them so as to play along as well with a beginner. These simplified pieces are well suited more for early learners. A delightful book.

Purchased for a 9 year old in between grades 2-3 so she could have fun sight reading over the Christmas period. Suitable for pianists who are coming up to grade 1.

This is a brilliant book for the beginner. My daughter was able to play most of these carols immediately despite having done no piano exams yet. There is a great selection of very well known carols in it.

A super first book of carols for all ages!

I use and like a lot of the Piano Time books, but was a bit disappointed with this. I had written most of the songs included out for varying abilities myself and these arrangements weren't any more professional. That said, the 3 stars are for a playable selection of well known carols, which are great if you don't write yourself.

Simply the best carol book for early learners!

good book for the beginner. they enjoy being able to play things they know even if not quite there hands together yet.

Having possibly tried every easy carol book ever printed, I have finally decided that this is the best of the bunch for young learners. The carols range from a few that can be mastered by pianists who haven't yet moved away from the "five fingers around middle C" position, to around grade 2 standard. The simpler carols have teacher accompaniments to add interest. This book will definitely last most children more than one Christmas and I have found that even when my pupils find these carols really easy they like using this book to just to relax and play, or accompany a family sing along!

I found this Carol Book excellent for my beginner pianists, both young and old! It's great as they don't get frustrated (as with other Carol Books.) The Carols are well chosen and playable for them!

I bought this book for my 9 year old son for Christmas and it is really easy to follow. There are also accompaniments to go with some of the carols which can be played at the same time. We've played some great duets.

This is the best carol book around for younger players .The selection of carols are all well known and there are very simple arrangments for beginners in 5 finger position and some with hands togther playing I often find that this is the spur to move them on to playing hands together for the first time. It's good value for money and I would definately recommend it!

I am glad I bought this early ie. before December - possibly too much for a young beginner. Now I know I will be able to use it.

Children can learn these within the limited time available, & the arrngements are great. The best of the early carol books by far.

A super first book of carols for all ages!

My 6 and a half year old daughter has been playing for about 12 months and she loved this as although several of the carols were too hard for her she was motivated to try to learn them because she knew the tunes.
