Oxfordshire Pianist, teacher, writer
- This is a wonderful find. I’ve looked at various assignment books for pupils and have also used blank books, and this one wins hands down so far. It’s a generous size and won’t get lost in the music bag, and there’s something about the layout that’s very inviting. There’s lots of space for writing – 47 lessons worth, with a week’s calendar printed at the bottom of each entry so that you and your pupil can plan out a practice schedule. I love the inspiring sections at the end for making lists - ‘Favourite Piano Pieces’, ‘My Performances and Recitals’ and, wonderfully - ‘Music I’ve listened to’. There are also blank pages for pictures, photos, mind maps, or pasting in programmes etc, and a concise timeline of the musical periods, along with some manuscript paper and a keyboard chart. It’s reasonably priced too.
