Lots of information about the playing and interpretation of the pieces at the beginning. Clear bowing and fingering.

As an advanced violinist who has never played the viola, playing something that is predictable, and well known, makes it easier to get to grips with the unfamiliar clef.

An absolute must for the Viola player. This has been one of my staples and the most used book I have for over 15 years. And when I bought it 15 years ago it cost more than £10!

I have used this arrangement for over 10 years and find the fingerings comfortable. I do rearrange some of the bowings, but overall this is a good transcription for the Viola.

This is a very good edition. I have had it before, so this is a replacement for an old copy. I always come back to the cello suites.

Bought as a part of a birthday present for my daughter who is a Grade 8 player (many years ago). These arrangements are great for playing challenging music unaccompanied at home to make a change from playing viola orchestral or quartet parts.

A very well arranged and presented edition of the suites, including a helpful commentary from the editor. Challenging but very satisfying - a welcome addition to the Viola repertoire.
