The DUC440 is a concert sized ukulele with a satin Koa finish on the top, back and sides. Koa is considered the “classic” ukulele wood. This, along with the arched back and bone nut and saddle, ensures that this instrument sounds as good as it looks.

The ukulele itself looks very nice/ I love the wood and the inlays on the fret board are gorgeous. The uke has a nice full tone and decent sustain. I received it as a gift for Christmas and have been playing it for about three weeks now.
Normally when you get a uke shipped to you, they have the strings very loose for transport. The C string was actually overtighened when I received it and it's really hard to get the c string into tune. I'm not sure if it was damaged because it was shipped while overtight or what but as I said, it's almost impossible to get that one string in tune. The intonation is also a little off for all 4 strings (consistently ~10 Hz too sharp every fret) but the C string is a little sharper than the rest. Also, the back of the tuner on the G string seems to be loose inside, so it rattles/buzzes all the time and that seems to be getting worse. I'm probably going to take it to a local music shop to have them check it out. My last complaint is purely cosmetic. In the picture there is the decorative ring around the sound hole, but the uke I received does not have this, there's just nothing there. I guess for what was paid for it, I just expected a little nicer quality of instrument. It looks pretty but it's got some issues.
