French composer, Vincent Paulet (b. 1962) studied at the Paris Conservatoire. His Antiphone for Alto Saxophone and Piano is a challenging, yet exciting addition to the repertoire.
A typical performance of Paulet's Antiphone lasts around four minutes and fifteen seconds. It is a highly modern work, addressing features of fast, semiquaver passages, exploited tonality, extended techniques, chromaticim, and complex rhythms, among other aspects. The extended techniques include, multiphonic sounds, flutter tonguing, and slap notes. For all advanced saxophonists, Paulet's Antiphone is an essential modern addition to the repertoire.
