Faber Piano Adventures: Level 1 - Lesson Book (2nd Edition)

Books | Piano

Publisher: Hal Leonard
Format: Books | Instrumental Tutor
The 2nd Edition Level 1 Lesson Book from the Faber Piano Adventures series introduces all the notes of the grand staff, elementary chord playing, and the concept of tonic and dominant notes.

Students play in varied positions, reinforcing reading skills and recognizing intervals through the 5th. Musicianship is built with the introduction of legato and staccato touches. This level continues the interval orientation to reading across the full range of the Grand Staff. The 5-finger approach is presented here in a fresh, musically appealing way.

I enjoy using Piano Adventure series for my students, as the books are written in a large script, use some well known tunes, with step by step development, most pieces have teachers duet part and sound very good together, theory of music gets covered in simple way and some of composers names are introduced.
The book is American, so some of the terms are different from the UK.

The progression is excellent. lovely material - this whole series is superb. I have 45 pupils and use it daily. Wouldn't be without it. I have used everything from Waterman Harewood, Thompsons, Pauline Hall, Hall Leonard and Alfred - it's the best without a doubt.Accompanying CD's add such colour to the lesson.
